Hope Begins with You
Our History of Hope
In the spirit of its signature phrase, “Because I’m Worth It,” L’Oréal Paris is dedicated to supporting and empowering women everywhere. Turning these words into actions, the company is inspired to give back. Each year more than 22,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and another 15,000 lose their lives to the disease. L’Oréal Paris believes that even one is too many and that Hope – for the eradication of the disease and for an increase in survival rate – begins with education.
L’Oréal Paris has been fundraising for ovarian cancer research and awareness since 1997. Since then, the company has helped raise more than $20 million for life-saving research through different fundraising initiatives including a limited edition cosmetics collection and the sponsorship of the L’Oréal Legends gala.
Founded in 1994, OCRF is devoted to the formulation of early diagnostic treatment programs and research. OCRF was founded in December 1994 by Sol Schreiber to honor the memory of his wife, Ann, a distinguished public administrator who fought a courageous five-year battle with ovarian cancer. Under the leadership of Liz Tilberis, the beloved late editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, OCRF experienced tremendous growth and gained national prominence as an organization committed to changing the course of this deadly disease.
